It’s an exciting time for your family. It is June
15th and you have learned that your Little League Child has made the all star
team. You have called Grandma and Grandpa and shared the good news with Aunt
Charlotte, your neighbors and the people you work with. Congratulations to your
Little League All Star and Family !
Now here is some important information that will help you with the All Star
experience. Your child’s league is in Little League Washington District 4 who
hosts these All Star Tournaments.
Little League Baseball and Softball Incorporated determines what is required for
certification and each Little League. District staff is required to
qualify/certify each all star player in for every Little League the district
(around 140 players). Each player must be certified every year even if the
player is a repeat all star. The district staff does not have the authority to
alter or make exceptions to any rule or regulation. Each District Champion is
subject to re-qualification at the next level of play.
- Live within the defined boundaries of the league he/she plays in and must present three (3) forms of proof of residence showing that he/she lives within the league boundaries. If the player does not live within that leagues boundaries then the league must obtain a waiver for the player by June 2nd , 2006. If the player is a wavered player then six (6) forms of proof of residence must be presented. (3) forms showing the current residence and (3) forms showing the former residence. A list of the acceptable forms of proof of residence can be found on the Little League Baseball web site: http://www.littleleague.org . Find the forms and documents menu and look for “proof of residence” .
- Each player must present an original Birth Certificate. The district staff cannot accept photocopies. Only original birth certificates will be accepted. If you have moved here from California and have an ‘Abstract of Live Birth’. Caution ! “ Abstract of Live Birth” documents are no longer a legal document so they cannot be accepted as proof of birth by the Washington District 4 staff. Please refer to the 2006 Little League Rule Book, page 16 for other forms of “Proof of Age”. Your team manager of league president should have a copy of the rule book or you can find information at http://www.littleleague.org .
Schedules for All Star Tournaments. Washington District 4 uses a pool
play format for the 11 – 12 Baseball and 11-12 Girls Softball All Star Tournaments.
All other divisions will use a bracketed format. Game schedules will be
